BYRAM, Miss. (WJTV) – A Byram woman pled guilty to embezzling mail.
According to court documents, Jeanetta N. Williams, 38, was a Rural Carrier Assistant and delivered mail along a rural route in Hinds County. Postal Service agents said they received complaints of mail going missing along Williams’ route.
Man arrested in connection to multiple auto burglaries in Brandon
On July 11, 2019, agents found Williams in possession of opened mail she did not deliver.
Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on March 1, 2022, and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison. […]

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – November is National Diabetes Month, and health officials are asking Mississippians to get tested. According to reports, Mississippi has the highest rate of diabetes in the country.
“We have some high-risk groups. Our Native American, Black, African American, Latino and Hispanic ethnic groups are all more likely to have type two diabetes. I mean let’s face it, we all love the Southern food and Southern cuisine, but sometimes it may not be the healthiest for us,” said Associate Director of the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi Irene McClain. JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Metrocenter Mall in Jackson in now owned by the State of Mississippi, according to court documents.
Emily Sanders used to own the mall. The court documents stated that Sanders owed $99,000 in taxes.
Metrocenter Mall leaders respond to vendor complaints
Former vendors at the Metrocenter Mall said Sanders failed to pay them for months.
“It seems like I’m never going to see that, and I have made peace with that,” said Dr. William Grigsby, the former Senior VPS for Metrocenter Mall.
Sanders could reclaim ownership of the mall if she is able to make the repayments she owes in a certain amount of time.
