STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi State sophomore forward Demetrius Houston is no longer with the team.
Coach Ben Howland, in a news release, announced Thursday that Houston will look to transfer.
Houston, of Montgomery, Alabama, was suspended the last six games due to conduct detrimental to the team. Howland did not provide further details.
Houston appeared in just one game this season, scoring two points in six minutes against Eastern Washington in the season opener. As a freshman, he appeared in 29 games, averaging three points and 2.2 rebounds.
The Bulldogs (4-3) play at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (5-4) Saturday. Tip-off is at 4 p.m.
