Hinds County Tax Collector Eddie J. Fair and staff held their annual Christmas social Friday, December 17, where friends, community leaders, legislators and others gathered to enjoy good food, entertainment, door prizes and dancing. It was held at the Clinton Event Center in Clinton, MS from 7 p.m.-10 p.m.Newly elected Warren County Tax Collector Amanda Haggard Battle attended the event along with her husband, Benjamin.
Battle stated that she had worked in the Warren County Tax Collector’s office for 25 years and on several occasions she visited Fair’s office with the current tax collector, Antonia Flaggs-Jones. During these occasions Fair gave them helpful advice and shared with them how he ran his office so efficiently. Battle told The Mississippi Link that his advice to her as the newly elected tax collector was “be firm and keep it real.”
Also in attendance was the newly re-elected Yazoo County Tax Assessor Denise Robertson along with several members of her staff. Robertson stated her tenure as tax collector had been made easier because she had mentors like Eddie Fair. “If I have a problem I can call him and he doesn’t make it sweet, he makes it real,” she said.
Fair introduced many of his guests and thanked them for coming. He also thanked his staff for their hard work and commitment.
