Sta-Home nurse charged with stealing checks from patient

JACKSON – Mississippi’s Attorney General Jim Hood said a nurse assistant working in Jackson has been arrested for allegedly stealing checks from a patient at the retirement home where she worked.

Angela Shunta Wilson, 34, of Canton, was arrested on May 17, on a felony capias by investigators with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office Medicaid Fraud Control Division with the assistance of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Wilson was booked into the Madison County jail on eight counts of uttering forgery. She is being held without bond pending charges by Hinds County.

Wilson, a former employee of the Sta-Home Health Agency in Jackson, allegedly stole eight checks totaling $1,750.00 from a patient at the Admiral Retirement Center located on North State Street in Jackson.

Wilson faces up to 80 years in jail and an $80,000 fine.
