
HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Four men have been charged in connection with a shooting at a Hattiesburg nightclub that left one man dead.
Police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler tells The Hattiesburg American 30-year-old Jimmie Lee Magee, of Prentiss, has been charged with murder. Traxler says 23-year-old Samuel Walker, of Prentiss; 27-year-old Jimarcus Burton, of Prentiss; and 22-year-old Romelvin Barnes Jr., of New Hebron, have been charged with accessory after the fact. Barnes also was charged with possession of a stolen firearm.
Traxler says three handguns were recovered during the incident.
The shooting happened around 2:10 a.m. Sunday at Club Memories.
Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem identified the victim as 36-year-old Kenneth Smith, of Purvis.
Smith was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
