Three charged for killing man found in drainage ditch

COMO – Authorities said three men have been charged in what appears to be a drug deal gone wrong. The partially burned body of 32-year old Tommy “Burnside” Moore was found on May 6 in a ditch on Paul White Road, one week after his mother reported him missing.

Antonio Glover, Odell McBrayer, Jr., and his cousin, Larry McBrayer, Jr., have all been charged with Moore‘s murder.

Panola County Coroner Gracie Grant-Gulledge said Moore had been shot several times, and a DNA test performed last week confirmed his identity.

Investigator Barry Thompson, of the Panola County Sheriff’s Department, said an argument over stolen drugs may have been the motive in the killing. The weapon used in the crime has been recovered, but authorities said the missing marijuana has not.

Thompson told The Panolian Newspaper that Moore and Glover had been ‘friends’ who lived next door to each other and often ‘hung out’ together. In fact, Moore was reportedly last seen on April 28 leaving his girlfriend’s apartment with Glover.

Moore’s mother reported him missing the next day on April 29.

Authorities believe Glover, described as a repeat offender, recruited Odell and Larry to kill Moore and then drove Moore’s Buick Roadmaster, with Moore inside, to the Paul White Road location.

Moore’s car was later burned, officials said, in an attempt to destroy crucial evidence.

The car was found a short distance from Moore’s body.

Thompson said four other people were arrested and charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to Glover’s house in the 200 block of Ford Street in Como in a further attempt to destroy evidence.

The Panolian said Marshall Doneil Little, Fredrick Terrell Moss, Credrick Demond Walker and Derrek Eugene Faulker, all of Como, are facing arson charges.

An eighth suspect, Edrico Echols, also of Como, was charged with accessory after the fact for helping to cover up the murder.

Authorities said some of the suspects are cooperating in the investigation.
