Midlick named women’s coach at Delta State

CLEVELAND – (AP) Delta State has named Austin Peay assistant David Midlick as its next women’s basketball coach.

Midlick was a three-year letterman at Mississippi. He averaged 5.8 points a game from 1989-91, appearing in one NIT and making the SEC Tournament finals the following season.

He has spent the last two years as an assistant coach at Austin Peay, working with the forwards and centers while also assisting in every other part of the program. It was his second tenure at Austin Peay, also having served there from 2003-06. He also was an assistant at Tennessee State.

Former Delta State coach Sandra Rushing resigned May 30 to accept the head coaching job at Central Arkansas. She had a 254-58 record in 10 seasons at Delta State.
