Suspects still at large

Biloxi police are looking for three men who allegedly picked up a man and then beat him up at a parking garage early Friday morning. Authorities said just after 2 a.m., on June 17, the victim was at the Shell gas station on Highway 90 when three men offered him a ride.

When the victim and the suspects arrived at the parking garage, the three suspects reportedly kicked the victim out of the car and started kicking him in the face. Police said the men also robbed the victim of several personal items.

Police said the suspects are described as three black males between 25 and 35 years of age. Surveillance cameras captured the image of one of the men and a picture of their vehicle which was a silver or light blue, older model Toyota Camry with a Mississippi license plate.

Man gets 30 years for possession of child porn

A Natchez man has been sentenced to 30 years in jail, 20 suspended for possession of child pornography. Alfred R. Smith, 45, plead guilty to those charges before Judge Lilly Blackmon in Adams County Circuit Court.

As a result, Judge Sanders sentenced Smith to 30 years behind bars with 10 to serve and 20 suspended. Smith was also given five years post-release supervision. He must also pay $1,000 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund and register as a sex offender upon his release.

Hood said an investigation by the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force found thousands of images and videos on Smith’s personal computer.

“Most important to us is that we feel we have rescued a child in this process,” said Attorney General Hood. “We can’t reveal any details in order to protect the child, but these are the type cases that keep us working day and night to put others behind bars who are committing this same crime.”

Gulfport man arrested for arson

A Gulfport man is being held on a $30,000 bond for allegedly trying to set a Harrison County business on fire. Fifty-one year old Randall Williams was arrested after police responded to the 500 block of Woodward Avenue in response to a suspicious person call.

Officers said the investigation revealed that Williams was trying to set the premises on fire. Williams was transported to the Harrison County Detention Center and his bond was set by Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray.

Woman slashes woman’s face with a box cutter

A Clarksdale woman is behind bars after police said she cut another woman’s face with a box cutter during an altercation. Thirty-nine year old Denna Henderson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after an incident that took place in the 900 block of Page Street.

Captain Robbie Linley said Henderson and several other females were fighting when Henderson attacked the victim. The victim was not involved in the incident. Linley said Henderson allegedly slit her face with a box cutter.

Henderson was taken into custody and her bond set at $50,000.
