Man arrested for bomb threat at bank

PASCAGOULA – A Jackson County man is behind bars after he allegedly walked into a bank and threatened to blow it up. Police said David Harold Hudson, Sr., was arrested after an incident at the Hancock Bank on March 16.

Lt. Davy Davis, of the Pascagoula Police Department, said officers responded to the bank at 1969 Market Street on a disturbance call. Davis said 61-year old Hudson told the bank’s manager he had a bomb, and “was going to blow the place up.”

Bank officials said Hudson had been asked to leave the bank earlier in the day because he was harassing the customers.

Davis said Hudson reportedly placed a white garbage bag containing several mason jars in the lobby by the rear door of the bank and left the scene.

Hudson was later arrested at his apartment in the 1200 block of Market Street and charged with false report of placing a bomb.

If he is found guilty, Hudson faces a $10,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison.

Hudson was transported to the Pascagoula city jail where he is awaiting his initial court appearance.
