PASS CHRISTIAN – (AP) A man arrested Tuesday morning in Mississippi for a Louisiana killing has confessed, authorities say.
St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain says deputies responded before dawn Tuesday when a relative called to say Billie Glenn Rawson, Jr. and his father had fought. The men shared a home in Pearl River, La. Strain says the fight was one-sided and Billie Rawson Sr. suffered trauma before his death.
Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara says Louisiana officials called to say Rawson might be heading east.
Mississippi officers found a vehicle matching Rawson’s at a gas station off Interstate 10 and arrested him without incident.
The 38-year-old is being held without bond in the Harrison County jail pending extradition. St. Tammany officials say Rawson has confessed to the killing. Rawson has a history of mental illness.
