Brown new director of student services for Biloxi School District

BILOXI – WLOX is reporting that Jermaine Brown, who originally served as the assistant principal and director of student services for Forrest County Schools, has been named the new director of student services for Biloxi Public Schools.

Brown’s new position becomes effective on Jan. 31.

Brown, 37, replaces Dr. David Spinks, who left to become the new executive director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast.

Brown has served in Forrest County Schools for two years, and was director of athletics and student services at Meridian Public School District for four years.

Brown graduated from Hattiesburg High School in 1991 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Jackson State, and two degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Science in Sport Administration and Specialist in Education Administration.

As director of student services, Brown will be responsible for overseeing the school resource officers, alternative school, student discipline hearings, issues related to student guardianship and residency, tuition, and the district’s in-school suspension program.
