Robbery occurred during board meeting

Three people have been arrested for the robbery of a court clerk in Sunflower County that occurred nearly a year ago. Authorities arrested Shameika Ivory, Clinton Earvin and Greal Earvin on Aug. 10, and charged them with the armed robbery of Vickie Sharp, the Indianola Municipal Court Clerk.

WXVT reported that Sharp and a co-worker were talking outside during a board meeting in October 2009, when two of the suspects allegedly robbed her and knocked her to the ground.

A third suspect, identified as Ivory, drove the car after Clinton and Greal allegedly assaulted Sharp.

An initial court appearance for the trio is pending.

Teen facing murder charges

A 19-year old Pascagoula man is facing capital murder charges after authorities said he shot a professional dog handler and groomer to death. Rodney Phillip McKenzie is being held without bond for the alleged murder of Johnny McArthur Bullock. Authorities said McKenzie reportedly shot Bullock while trying to rob him early Tuesday morning, Aug. 10.

Pascagoula officials said Bullock, who owns Bullock’s Kennel, was found dead in his van after it crashed into a utility pole.

McKenzie is scheduled to appear in court this week.

Antiques Roadshow visits Biloxi

More than 12,000 people lined up at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi to have their favorites antiques appraised by the crew from the popular PBS series the Antiques Roadshow.

WLOX reported that those in attendance were treated to history lessons throughout the day as thousands of items reached the appraisal tables, including rugs, carriages and assorted sports memorabilia.

One man from Jackson brought in an old train clock that belonged to his great-grandfather.

Experts told the owner the clock, which was broken, dated back to the 1880s and was valued at about $10,000. If he repaired the clock, they said it could easily bring him about $25,000.

The man said the clock was a family heirloom and he “had no plans of selling” the treasured item.

Iowa was the next scheduled stop for the Antiques Roadshow.
