Lee King Productions Presents the 32nd Annual Farish Street Heritage Festival Featuring The Best in Blues, Old School and Gospel

Jackson, MS—-Tickets are now on sale for one of Mississippi’s oldest festival. The 32nd Annual Farish Street Heritage Festival is scheduled for September 3rd– 4th. The 2010 festival offers the best in blues, old school R&B and gospel. Headlining this year’s festival is SugarFoot’s Ohio Players, Eddie Cotton, Zac Harmon, Cupid, 601 and comedian Virgil “Big V.” Walker. Tickets can be purchased at all Bebop locations, Bama Record Shop on Bailey Avenue and Bully’s Soul Food Restaurant. A limited number of tickets can be purchased for $10.

On Friday, September 3rd the JSU Tiger Fund in conjunction with the Farish Street Festival will host a pep rally for the WC Gordon Classic Football game between Jackson State University and Delta State University. The pep rally, which is free and open to the public, will be at the Festival site. Gates open at 4 p.m. Pep rally starts at 6 p.m. with Jackson State’s Sonic Boom of the South.

The following day gates will open at 4 p.m. for patrons who are interested in taking early advantage of the food and merchandise vendors, the Kiddie Cottage, as well as hearing some of Mississippi’s gospel greats, as well as up and coming artists.

Gospel music returns to the Festival with performances by Castro Coleman and Highly Favored, Da Minister, Dynamic Golden Stars and a series of artist for a special edition Hallelujah 95.5’s Homegrown Live. All performances will be held at Central United Methodist Church.

The rhythm and blues performances are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. with local band 601 followed by Zac Harmon, Cupid, Eddie Cotton and Sugarfoot’s Ohio Players. Hosting the show is comedian Virgil “Big V.” Walker.
