Donation to create William Carey health science facility lab

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) _ A private Mississippi university has received a $30,000 donation from a Hattiesburg pharmacist and his wife.

William Carey University announced the donation from Ron and Michelle Edwards in a recent online news release. The donation was made in the name of their business, Vital Care Infusion Services of Hattiesburg.

The donation will be used to create an infusion laboratory within William Carey’s College of Health Science facility, which is under construction.

The donation was marked with a private ceremony Oct. 7, according to the university.

“We’re happy to be able to support the education of nurses as they learn to adapt in new environments. My wife is a William Carey alum, so I had read about the new health sciences building in the university’s magazine. I also learned about it from Jamie Scott, our director of clinical services here at Vital Care,” Edwards said in the news release.
