Teacher asks 14-year old student for ‘sexual favors’

VANCLEAVE – For the second time in recent weeks, another Gulf Coast substitute teacher has been charged with sexual misconduct with a student. Twenty-three year old Darryl Ford Brady II was arrested for allegedly passing notes to a 14-year old student asking for sexual favors.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said Brady reportedly confessed to writing the letters while working at the Vancleave Middle School.

“The victim received letters of a sexual nature that were given to her at the school,” Byrd said. “[Brady] encouraged her and enticed her to have an intimate relationship with him.”

Authorities believe Brady propositioned the girl for about two weeks prior to the incident being reported.

Brady was arrested at his home on Morningside Drive in Vancleave, and his bond was set at $5,000 which he posted and was released.

In February, 27-year old Justin Morris Burton, of Gulfport, was arrested and charged with sexual battery after he allegedly had sex with a 16-year old student.

Burton is being held on a $75,000 bond.
