A man entered a Walmart on off County Line Rd around 7:30 pm and stabbed a pharmacist with a syringe. He was arrested by Ridgeland Police after he ran out of the store, and then attempted to carjack a woman who was driving into the Walmart parking lot. He jumped out of the car and ran back into the store when police arrived.
A Walmart employee, working at a cash register near an outside entrance and also near the pharmacy said that she heard a disturbance, but continued to work her cash register, until she saw police rush in. She heard the police scream at the man to put the syringe down.
The police arrested the man after he grabbed a bottle of what appeared to be hydrogen peroxide and started drinking it. He was taked to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for evaluation. The pharmacist injuries were not life threatening.
