ARC DINNER CANCELED
Due to the winter weather warning, the American Red Cross has canceled its Humanitarian Dinner that was scheduled to take place tonight at Jackson State University.

HCSD Weather-related Announcement
Hinds County School District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions. In regards to Friday, February 4, 2011, the district will decide, if possible by 10:00 o’clock tonight as to weather schools will close. If a decision cannot be determined by then, please monitor the local media for additional information.

Hinds CC cancels Thursday night classes, activities
RAYMOND – Hinds Community College has cancelled all night classes and activities after 4:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, for all six Hinds locations because of predicted icy weather conditions.
No decision has been made about Friday. That decision most likely will be made Friday morning. All students and employees should check http://eagleone.hindscc.edu/ web page for updated information.
The basketball game between Hinds Community College and Copiah-Lincoln Community College has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at Co-Lin.

Some local county health departments closing due to inclement weather
The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) announces the following county health department sites – including regional home health offices and Women, Infants and Children Supplemental Food and Nutrition Education Program (WIC) warehouses in these counties – are closing early today, FEB. 3, due to inclement weather:

Crossroads Clinic South in Pike County
District VII Public Health Office in Adams County
Franklin County
Jeff Davis County
Jefferson County
Lawrence County
Lincoln County
Marion County
Pike County
Simpson County
Warren County
Walthall County
Wilkinson County
As weather conditions worsen, more county health departments may also close. MSDH advises calling before visiting health departments.
