HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (AP) — After a nearly two-week search, a 37-year-old Hattiesburg woman wanted in the death of an elderly man has been arrested in Lamar County.
Jon Traxler tells The Hattiesburg American Carrie Lea Reynolds was taken into custody Wednesday evening.
She was booked into the Forrest County Jail on a second-degree murder charge.
Police had sought Reynolds in connection with a Feb. 20 incident that led to the death of an elderly man at the Interstate 59-Hardy Street intersection.
Officials said they believe Reynolds had been driving the man’s truck, and that the victim either got out of the truck or was pushed from it. He was then run over.
It was unclear whether Reynolds has an attorney.
