All passengers on board confirmed dead

Authorities are still investigating a deadly plane crash near McComb early Sunday morning that left three people dead.

The Associated Press reported that all three passengers aboard the Cessna 310R, dual-engine propeller craft were killed when the plane crashed into trees near the McComb-Pike County Airport.

Police Chief Greg Martin said the wreckage of the private plane was found in the moderately populated area on the western edge of the city.

Authorities said the plane left New Orleans around 4 a.m. on April 10, and was en route to McComb, about a 110-mile flight, when it went down.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Martin said the Federal Aviation Administration sent two investigators to the scene to determine the cause of the accident.

Fugitive caught selling drugs out of motel room

A convicted felon wanted by authorities for violating his parole was arrested for selling drugs at a motel in Amory. Antonio Hughes, 37, was charged with possession of a felony amount of cocaine after agents discovered that Hughes was distributing illegal narcotics from the motel.

Officials at MDOC said Hughes was sentenced to eight years in prison for aggravated assault in 2005. Hughes began his probation on April 23, 2010. U.S. Marshals were looking for Hughes because he violated his probation prior his arrest at the motel.

The motel room was registered to 31-year old Alison Jenise Latham-Walton who was also arrested for harboring a known fugitive in her room.

Man gets 20 years for getting 14-year old pregnant

A 48-year old man Gulfport man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual battery. John Anthony Hayes was charged after authorities said 10 years ago, he got a 14-year old girl pregnant. Officials said there is no statute of limitations on charges of sexual battery and Hughes must serve the 20 years in prison day for day.

Hughes was sentenced by circuit court judge John Gargiulo in Harrison County Circuit Court.
