OLIVE BRANCH – Officials from Anda Distribution, a leading distributor of generic pharmaceuticals in the U.S., recently announced that the company is locating warehousing and distribution operations in Olive Branch. The company is constructing a new 234,000-square-foot facility in the Crossroads Distribution Center that is projected to be operational by the second quarter of 2012.
The project represents a corporate investment of approximately $23 million and will create approximately 70 new jobs for area residents.
With over 8,000 items in stock, Anda’s product assortment also includes brands and specialty pharmaceuticals, vaccines, injectables, medical/surgical supplies and OTCs/Vitamins. They ship to over 70,000 pharmacy related, physician and warehouse locations, to all classes of trade.
MDA worked with company and local officials to help facilitate the project, providing assistance for the project through the Momentum Mississippi incentives program and helping the company with its workforce training needs. Additionally, the City of Olive Branch and DeSoto County provided support for public infrastructure improvements.
Headquartered in Weston, Fla., Anda Distribution, which is a division of Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., is the fourth largest U.S. distributor of generic pharmaceuticals.
