Employment Opportunities

The City of Jackson Department of Human and Cultural Services, in association with Senior Services America, offers employment opportunities to individuals 55 years of age and older. For more information, call the Senior Services Division at 960-0419.

Senior Centers’ Activities

The City of Jackson Department of Human and Cultural Services offers a variety of programs, services, and recreational activities at local senior citizens’ centers, to persons 55 years of age and older. Services may include meals, transportation, self-development classes, and community resource information.

Senior Services are made possible through the joint efforts of the City of Jackson, Central Mississippi Planning and Development District and individual/private donations. For more information, please call the Senior Services Division at 960-0335.

Meals for Seniors

The City of Jackson Department of Human and Cultural Services offers a nutritious meal Monday through Friday at local senior citizens’ centers to individuals 60 years of age and older. Each serving meets the USDA minimum requirements of a well-balanced meal. Donations are welcome. For more information, please call 960-0423.

CARE A VAN

The City of Jackson Department of Human and Cultural Services and staff of St. Dominic Health Services CARE A VAN will provide Blood Pressure Checks and information on “Living with Alzheimer’s Disease” at local senior citizens’ centers throughout the month of November. This event is free of charge to the elderly. or more information, please call the Senior Services Division at 960-0335.
