On Friday, June 24, the city of Jackson celebrated the official grand re-opening of White’s Perfect Kutz and Styles. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the beauty salon and barber shop’s new location, 1334 University Blvd. (formerly Terry Road).

City of Jackson’s Office of Economic Development Acting Deputy Director Michael Davis presented White’s Perfect Kutz and Styles with a Certificate of Appreciation for their investment in the capital city.

White’s Perfect Kutz and Styles is owned by husband and wife David and Valencia White. The Whites have invested $100,000 into the renovation and relocation of the barber shop and beauty salon which was first located at 1500 Terry Road. Currently, White’s Perfect Kutz and Styles has eight employees with plans to add four more to their staff.

The Whites’ move, only a few blocks from where there business first began in 2006, is another demonstration of their commitment to the West Jackson community. Most recently, their shop participated in a program that provided free haircuts to students at Poindexter and George Elementary schools.

“Our mission is to change the community one head at a time by providing quality service and support,” Valencia White said. “People tend to feel better when they look better. It builds self-esteem and confidence.”
