Investigation will determine speed at the time of crash

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said a 24-year old man that had just purchased a new motorcycle was killed the same day when he hit the curb and crashed. Byrd said the accident occurred on May 30 and Vincent Wescovich, Jr., of Ocean Springs, was heading east on Lemoyne Blvd. around 4:45 p.m. on his new motorcycle.

Byrd said he believes speed is going to be a factor in the accident because Wescovich was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed.

Wescovich was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Byrd said he is investigating the accident and a recreation of the crash will determine how fast the victim was going.
