Pair arrested for selling fake laptops

PASCAGOULA – Two men from Jackson have been arrested for selling packaged notebook paper as new laptop computers, Lt. Davy Davis said of the Pascagoula Police Department. Danny Jerome Hill, 27, and Jonathan Deangelo Vann, 23, have been charged with counterfeiting instruments labeled over $1,000. Davis said the two men allegedly sold the counterfeit items throughout Mississippi and possibly out of state.

Davis said Hill and Vann packaged what appeared to be 17″ Apple Notebook laptop computers from Best Buy and sold them at a reduced price.

“The packages were actually wrapped up notebook paper with three-ring binders with an extension cord attached in an effort to simulate a computer,” Davis said.

Both men were taken into custody at the Pascagoula Police Department and they are awaiting a bond hearing.

Anyone who has been victimized by Hill or Vann, or by similar circumstances can contact their local police department.
