Mississippi State announces $75M stadium expansion

Mississippi State will begin a $75 million expansion of Davis Wade Stadium, with the project expected to be finished ahead of the 2014 season.

Jackson doctor gets 14 years for health care fraud

A Jackson doctor found guilty of filing more than $12 million in false claims has been sentenced to 168 months (14 years) in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Dr. Cassandra Faye Thomas was sentenced in U.S. District Court Friday for a variety of charges including wire fraud to conspiracy.

Woman arrested, accused of faking slip-and-fall

A Southaven woman has been arrested for fraud and charged as a habitual offender. Authorities have accused her of faking a fall at the Ramada Inn in Horn Lake to collect insurance money.

A news release from the Mississippi attorney general’s office says 36-year-old Tracey Leigh Davidson was indicted as a habitual offender for three prior convictions in Louisiana. If convicted of this charge, it would mean a mandatory maximum sentence of three years.
