GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — Police say a 54-year-old off-duty Gulfport firefighter has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a shooting at his home.

The Sun Herald reports police responded to Scott Stuckey’s home early Sunday morning to a disturbance.

Police said they learned that there had been a verbal fight between Stuckey and a man, who had been a guest at Stuckey’s house.

They say during the argument, Stuckey pulled out a firearm and shot the victim in the leg.

Stuckey was booked into the Harrison County jail and Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set his bond at $25,000.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Stuckey.
