Mississippi 2016 Delta Days at the Capitol public policy forums are set for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 9, at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Jackson.
The organization will host a legislative and community partnership breakfast at 8 a.m. The breakfast will feature legislative updates from the Mississippi House and Senate. The forums will follow the breakfast and focus on election year voting issues and translating advocacy into law and feature knowledgeable panelists. The goal is to promote awareness and help community members make informed voting decisions.
A luncheon will follow the forums at noon. The luncheon’s keynote speaker is Constance Slaughter-Harvey, noted civil right activist and first African American and woman elected president of the National Association of Election Directors.
The breakfast and luncheon are invitation only, but the policy forums are open to the public.
