Cavaliers sign former JSU stand-out to 10-day contract

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers signed guard Trey Johnson, who averaged over 20 points per game for Bakersfield in the NBA Development League, to a 10-day contract Tuesday.

Johnson averaged 20.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 39.2 minutes per game for the Jam. He also led the D-League by making 46 percent (36-of-78) of his 3-point attempts.

Johnson, who will wear No. 24 for the Cavs, played at Jackson State (Miss.), where he averaged 27.1 points as a senior in 2007.
