JACKSON – WTVA is reporting that the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office wants to get information from people who bought goods and services from two troubled cemeteries.
Forrest Memorial Park in Corinth and Oaklawn Memorial Park in Booneville were temporarily turned over to a retired judge after it was discovered there wasn’t any money in their trust accounts.
People who bought gravesites and pre-need merchandise are asked to bring copies of the documentation of those purchases Thursday or Friday to leave with state employees at the Alcorn County Justice Center in Corinth.
Here is when people are asked to arrive based on their last name:
Thursday
A-C 8:00 am – 10:00 am
D-F 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
G-I 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
J-M 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Friday
N-P 8:00 am – 10:00 am
Q-S 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
T-V 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
W-Z 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
People who can’t attend at the specified times can show up at their convenience or call the Secretary of State’s office at 601-359-9055.
