Brandi Favre taken into custody

WLOX is reporting that Brandi Favre, the younger sister of football great, Brett Favre, was among the five people arrested on Jan. 12 near a meth lab in Diamondhead. The meth lab was discovered at a condo complex near Diamondhead Drive East, by Hancock County narcotics agents.

Several of the condo units were evacuated and investigators witnessed a drug deal in progress at a nearby gas station.

The suspects then led deputies back to the location of the meth lab.

Five people inside the condo were arrested, but authorities have not released, who has been charged. Arrested were: Brandi Favre, David Logan, Marty Grimes, Carl Wynn, III and Alicia Kirkland.

The suspects were taken for decontamination by a HazMat team prior to being taken into custody.

Man shot twice while sitting in car

Clarksdale police said a man was shot twice Sunday morning while sitting in his vehicle. The black male was sitting in his car, near the Jack Johnson Estates, around 12:36 a.m., on Jan. 9. Police said the victim was shot once in the hip and once in the arm, by an unknown subject. The incident remains under investigation.

Body found in woods identified

Officer Colendula Green, with the Jackson Police Department, said the body of a woman found in the woods earlier this week has been positively identified. Green said on Jan. 10, about 5 p.m., the badly decomposed body of 32-year Sherrell Harris Shaw, was found off South Drive near Dixon Road.

The Hinds County coroner said Shaw sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, and had been dead for at least five days before her body was found.

Man robbed at gunpoint

A Clarksdale man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday by four black males wearing masks, police said. The victim was near the 1100 block of Page Street, around 10:34 p.m., when he was approached by the four men. The suspects took the victim’s wallet and his cell phone. The victim was not injured.
