TUPELO – Authorities in Tupelo are hoping that a remarkably clear image of a man suspected of robbing a bank Thursday afternoon, will lead to his capture. Tupelo police said about 4 p.m., on July 7, a white male, possibly in his late 30s, walked into the Trustmark Bank on West Main Street, pulled a gun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man was wearing blue denim shorts, a checkered shirt and a tan or a beige cap.
Police said the man pulled a black gun, but they were unsure of the caliber.
During the holdup, police said there was at least one woman in the branch because she was seen kneeling on the floor in the surveillance footage. It was not immediately determined if she was an employee or a customer.
There were no reported injuries.
Authorities said the robbery of this bank comes about two weeks after another bank, M & F on North Gloster Street, was also robbed. A suspect has been taken into custody in that case.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect can contact the Tupelo Police Department at (662) 841-6491 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at (800) 773-TIPS.
