WAVELAND, Miss. (AP) – Police have arrested a man on felony assault and other charges after he got into a scuffle with officers.
The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1cBo6Lt ) reports 31-year-old Leif Dasco was arrested after an officer responded to reported gunshots in a Waveland neighborhood Thursday morning. Waveland Police Chief David Allen says the officer heard the shots, called for backup and discovered an 18-year-old man shooting targets in his backyard. The teenager was released at the home with a minor summons.
Allen says Dasco came out the house during the conversation and was belligerent, fighting with officers, punching one of them in the face and scuffling with two others in a nearby ditch. Officers took him into custody and seized two firearms as evidence. It is unclear if Dasco has a lawyer.
