Twin sisters arrested for insurance fraud

JACKSON – Twin sisters from Clinton have been arrested and charged with insurance fraud after filing numerous fraudulent insurance claim forms and medical reports for accidents, Attorney General Jim Hood said.

Diane and Dinah Haralson have been arrested by the Public Integrity Division of the Attorney General’s Office, Insurance Fraud Unit, after being indicted on multiple counts of insurance fraud.

Diane Haralson, of Glendale Street, has been charged with two counts of insurance fraud for allegedly filing fraudulent claim forms to receive benefits for injuries she supposedly sustained in a car accident in September 2008 and a bicycle accident in April 2009.

Diane’s alleged fraud totaled $4,500, and her bond was set at $10,000.

Dinah Haralson, also of Glendale Street, has been charged in two separate indictments with twelve counts of insurance fraud.

Dinah’s charges also stem from allegedly filing fraudulent insurance claim forms for herself and for her daughter, in order to receive insurance benefits.

Dinah filed claims between March 2007 and May 2010.

Dinah claims her daughter was injured in two bicycle accidents, one in January 2008 and another in September 2008; a skating accident in March 2008; and a car accident in April 2009.

Dinah said that she was personally injured while cooking in March 2007, and sustained severe burns.

She also claimed she was injured in February 2008 when she had a bicycle accident; April 2008 when she fell down a flight of stairs; August 2008 when she was in a car accident and April 2009 when she was injured in a second car accident.

Dinah’s alleged fraud totaled $12,900, and her bond was set at $60,000.

Both sisters were arrested and transported to the Hinds County jail.

No trial date has been set for either woman.
