
Police: 14-year-old teen shot in front of Jackson school
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A spokeswoman for the Jackson Police Department says a 14-year-old boy has been shot multiple times in front of his middle school.
Colendula Green says the student was in front of Rowan Middle School when he was shot and is now in critical condition. Police responded to a call about the shooting around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Clarion-Ledger reports the boy, whose name has not been released, was with a female student at the time of the incident. The girl was not injured.
Green says police are looking for a light blue, Chevrolet Impala that was seen leaving the scene.
Authorities don’t have any possible motive at this time.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
