Casting Call for feature film based on Faulkner novel

Writer and director James Franco will film William Faulkner's, "As I Lay Dying," in Mississippi this fall.

JACKSON – Humble Productions Inc. has announced that their production of William Faulkner’s AS I LAY DYING will film in Mississippi this fall. The film is presently scouting locations in central and north Mississippi.

Avi Lerner, Matt O’Toole and Rob Van Norden from Millenium Films/Nu Image will serve as executive producers, as well as Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy from Rabbit Bandini Films. Oscar nominee James Franco will star and direct.

“It’s an honor to be adapting a Faulkner novel, and a pleasure to be able to film in Mississippi locations, where the story was set.” says writer-director James Franco.

Ward Emling, Director of the Mississippi Film Office said, “We are always happy to announce another production, but when it is one of our great writers, it is even more special. It becomes such a great and important experience for both the production and the state.”

Additional details: Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012 – Humble Productions, Inc. is currently casting SAG and non-union actors in Central Mississippi for a feature film based on a novel by William Faulkner. The feature will begin filming next month.

The company is a seeking Caucasian boys ages 8-10 and Caucasian females ages 16 -25 to play major roles. The company is also seeking men, all types, 40 years and older. All speaking roles will be compensated.

There will be a casting call for these roles on Wednesday, Aug. 8 in Jackson.

The audition will be at New Stage Theatre, 1100 Carlisle Street, Jackson, MS 39202.

Boys ages 8-10 and females ages 16-25 should arrive between 5 – 6:00 p.m. Please bring a photo.

Men ages 40 and older should arrive between 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Please bring a photo.

Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10 & 11. An OPEN CASTING CALL will be held Friday and Saturday in Canton at The Corner House, 252 E. Peace St.

Friday’s casting call is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday’s casting call is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
