JACKSON – A fourth suspect has been charged with capital murder and arson in the case of Jackson man found bound and burned in the area of Methodist Home Road and Forest Hill Avenue in April.

Jackson Police Officer Colendula Green said Marcellos Coleman turned himself in on May 24 and he was scheduled for an initial appearance in court the following day.

Coleman, Janice Pittman, Raymond Jackson and Marcus Shelby have all been charged in the murder of Duan Penn.

Green said authorities initially responded to what they thought was a brush fire on April 12, but what they found instead was Penn, who had been tied up and set on fire.

Penn’s body was about 15 feet from the road.

Pittman and Jackson were the first suspects charged in the murder followed by Shelby and Coleman.
