JACKSON, MS – (November 18, 2022) – Airlines serving the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) anticipate a significant increase in passenger traffic during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday period. The number of travelers is expected to rise starting today, Friday, November 18th into next week, with peak travel occurring Tuesday, November 22nd through Wednesday, November 23rd, and then again on Saturday and Sunday, November 26th and 27th. The peak hours for departing passengers are between 6 and 8 a.m., 10 a.m. until noon, and then 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. daily.
As a result of substantial air service increases at JAN this year, flight choices and passenger volumes are at levels not seen in a decade. This fall, JMAA announced the opening of several new restaurant options on both the East and West concourses. Delicious, national, and locally-flavored cuisines are available to our travelers, along with a variety of beverages for all ages. Hours will fluctuate around the actual holiday. Know before you go!
