Morton High School linebacker killed in wreck

bailey-facebookPELAHATCHIE, Miss. (AP) – Scott County authorities say a Morton High School linebacker died in a single car accident on Interstate 20.

Sheriff Mike Lee tells The Clarion-Ledger (http://on.thec-l.com/2gcTLHe) 18-year-old Lane Bailey apparently lost control of the car and it flipped several times ejecting Baily from the vehicle.

Lee says Bailey, a junior, was on his way to go hunting early Sunday morning when the accident occurred.

Lee says there was another person in the vehicle, who was asleep when the accident occurred, woke up to the vehicle flipping down the roadway. Lee says the passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Bailey is the third Mississippi high school football player killed in a wreck in a week.
