JACKSON, Miss. (AP) – Authorities say a man arrested by Jackson police had a handgun still on him after he was placed in a patrol vehicle.
Police Commander Tyree Jones tells local news outlets 36-year-old Johnny Ailes has been charged with business burglary and attempted business burglary stemming from attempted ATM thefts.
Jones said officers did not find the gun Monday during the initial search. He said it was very fortunate that no one was injured.
Jones says the gun incident remains under investigation.
