Media outlets report that on Saturday, federal drug agents arrested 35-year-old Miguel Villalobos Chavez and 33-year-old Marlina Martinez Marcias, both of Mexico.

Police say an undercover agent and a confidential source arranged to pick up a drug shipment in Gulfport from a courier at a restaurant. When the confidential source and undercover agent arrived, they met with Chavez and Marcias. The group then moved to the parking lot of a nearby hotel.

Shortly after, Chavez and the confidential source began removing packages of meth from the doors of Chavez and Marcias’ truck.

Upon seeing the meth, the agent gave a signal for other agents nearby to arrest Chavez and Marcias. Police uncovered 46.7 pounds of meth.

It’s unclear if Chavez or Marcias have attorneys.
