GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) — Gautier could soon join a handful of Mississippi towns in telling people to pull up their pants.
In this case though, The Sun Herald reports a fine of up to $250 could give that admonishment some additional weight.
The city council is set to vote on a proposed public indecency ordinance at its regular Tuesday evening meeting.
This is the first time such an ordinance has been proposed in Gautier but other towns and counties have enacted similar policies.
A citation under the ordinance would be punishable by a fine of between $75 and $250. The court could also order the offender to participate in up to 40 hours of community service.
