SEMINARY, Miss. (AP) — The town of Seminary doesn’t have enough elected officials to conduct city business.
WDAM-TV reports two more alderman turned in resignations Tuesday.
According to pro-tem Mayor Dawn Kelly, Freddy Bullock and David Altman quit during Tuesday night’s regularly scheduled meeting.
These resignations come less than a month after the town’s mayor, clerk, attorney and one alderman resigned.
With just two elected officials left, Seminary does not have a quorum, meaning it cannot conduct town business.
Kelly says she contacted the attorney general’s office to determine the next step for the Covington County town.
It will take two special elections to fill all the vacant positions. The first one is set for Dec. 15.
