Foul play suspected in death of missing Pike County man found near burned-out minivan

16790211-smallMCCOMB, Mississippi (AP) — Pike County deputies are investigating the death of a man, whose body was found Tuesday night on a county road near his burned-out minivan.

Chief Sheriff’s Investigator Lance Falvey says 68-year-old Leroy McCray has been missing since the weekend. He says a deputy found the man’s body on a county road just north of the Louisiana state line.

County Coroner Percy Pittman says McCray had been shot at least once. An autopsy has been ordered.

Falvey says McCray’s body was found about 40 yards from his minvan, the same vehicle he was reportedly last seen in.

Falvey says the minivan had been set on fire and much of the vehicle’s interior was burned out.
