ETHEL, Mississippi (AP) — The Attala County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a house explosion that injured one man.
Chief Jailer Ray Edwards tells The Associated Press the explosion happened late Sunday night at home about four miles north of Ethel on County Road 2101.
Edwards says the man was working on some type of devise when it exploded.
He says the home owner suffered severe chest injuries and was airlifted to the hospital.
Edwards says the explosion rattled windows several miles away.
Other details about the explosion and the condition of the injured man were not immediately available.
