MADISON, Mississippi (AP) — A justice court judge has dismissed trespassing charges a widow filed against Madison police who went to her Ridgeland home after her husband’s death.

The Clarion-Ledger reports the judge in Madison County dismissed the charges Wednesday.

It was the second time a judge had tossed out the charges filed by Robin Mayfield. A circuit judge had dismissed them in October, then she refiled them.

Mark Mayfield, an attorney and local tea party leader, was arrested by Madison police May 22 in an investigation into unauthorized photos being taken of Sen. Thad Cochran’s debilitated wife in her nursing home room. Investigators say the photos were used briefly in an anti-Cochran video online.

Authorities say Mark Mayfield took his own life at home in June.
