The Honorable Chokwe Lumumba, Mayor of the City of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Mayor Lumumba was a beloved father, human rights activist, visionary, and leader of the great City of Jackson, Mississippi. He devoted his entire life to serving others through his vision of unity – “One City, One Aim, One Destiny.” He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the citizens of Jackson. The memorial schedule is as follows:
