WASHINGTON, D.C.—Officials released the name of the shooter killed after opening fire on the Washington Naval Yard.

Law enforcement have identified the gunman as Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, Texas, according to NBC News.

Thirteen people, including Alexis, have been killed in the shooting that began at 8:20 a.m.

Officials said the 34-year-old had been recently hired as a civilian contractor. He reportedly entered the Naval Yard using another person’s ID.

Cathy Lanier, chief of the Metropolitan Police Department in D.C., said authorities are still looking for a black suspect wearing a military-style uniform  in connection with the shooting.

The U.S. Senate has recessed in the wake of the shooting, according to the Washington Post.

The Senate buildings are on lockdown, according to The Washington Post. “You may move about the building, however, for the next two hours you may not leave nor can anyone enter the building,” said an email sent to staffers.

Some roads around the Navy Yard will remain closed.

The Washington Nationals game against the Atlanta Braves has been postponed until Tuesday.
