Two Jackson men plead guilty to federal drug charges

JACKSON – Willie James Williams, a/k/a Big Bug, a/k/a Chill, 33, of Jackson, and Willie Earl Culley, 51, of Jackson, have each pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The defendants were indicted in connection with Operation Paperchase, an extensive investigation targeting illegal narcotics distribution in the city of Jackson.

Williams and Culley will be sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge David C. Bramlette, III on March 12, 2013. Both defendants face a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and up to a $5 million fine.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Gulf Coast HIDTA, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
