JACKSON – A Scott County nurse has been arrested and charged with taking drugs from a patient for his own purposes, Attorney General Jim Hood said.
Jacob David Lee, 27, formerly a registered nurse (RN) at S. E. Lackey Critical Access Hospital in Forest, turned himself in to investigators with the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit on Wednesday, Nov. 28, following indictment by the Scott County Grand Jury on one count of “obtaining a controlled substance by means of fraud…”
The indictment alleges that Lee took possession of a quantity of the drug Pethidine, also known as demerol, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, by changing the physician’s order for a patient and then converting it to his own use.
Lee was booked into the Scott County jail and released on a $5,000 bond.
If convicted, he faces up to five years behind bars.
