GAUTIER – Gautier will soon have a new police chief. Chief Eddie Williams is retiring for medical reasons, Mayor Tommy Fortenberry said Monday.

Capt. Dante Elbin will serve as the interim chief during the search for Williams’ replacement. He currently oversees the department’s traffic division.
